Meet the family

Our Team

Take a few moments to find out what makes them tick, what they enjoy doing and more importantly why they love working at The Gallery.

Creative director and salon owner

Lorenzo started hairdressing in 1988. The son of Italian parents, who themselves were hairdressers and always in the business of looking after people, Lorenzo soon found his passion for creativity and customer service. In 1995 he took over the family salon, Barnet Fair, and re-named it The Gallery.

Inspired by creativity and individuality, regular salons seemed to lack any personality and there often seemed to be a lack of customer focus and awareness. This became Lorenzo’s objective. To build a creative environment that inspires both hairdressers and customers and to break the mould of conventional hairdressing.

Lorenzo has written features for magazines on all things hairdressing and travelled far and wide to look after the hair and styling needs of the rich and famous.

With a PHAB (Performance in Hair and Beauty) Standard for customer service and being asked to talk at hairdressing business conventions and colleges Lorenzo relishes in his world of hairdressing and business.

“I love The Gallery and all that goes with it. The loyal staff and the incredibly loyal customers, who have crossed our threshold for more than 30 years. They are an inspiration and a pleasure to serve.’ As for my family, Sian my wife and my five beautiful girls Jasmin, Sienna, Blaise, Saskia and Kendra, I wouldn’t know what to do without them”

Creative Director

Cousin to Lorenzo, Mario first came to the original salon as a child. With a career path unknown, it seems destiny lead him into hairdressing and years later part of The Gallery team. Mario brings a new dimension to the business through education and creativity. As a former Art Team Member with Andrew Barton on Channel 4's 10 years younger and L’Oreal Colour Specialist, he has since gone on to become a L’Oreal ID Artist, L’Oreal H3 Ambassador and has represented our brand at many prestigious events, including The Professional Hairdresser live and Salon International.

Awarded a PHAB standard (performance in hair & beauty), Mario strives for success by sharing his knowledge and passion with the team.

“Hairdressing has been my focus for the past 12 years. It’s been an honor to be asked to be involved in so many events and education programmes. I think I’ve grown more in the past five years especially after the birth of my gorgeous children Cecily and Leonardo. I’m thankful to so many people who have offered me support and guidance in my career…. Thank you Kirsten (my wife) and Lorenzo!”
